Do You Love Easy Cards To Make That Look Like Fancy Cards?

You can create fancy cards when you use bold colors and Stampin’ Up!s Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper (DSP). It is one of the most gorgeous set of papers I’ve seen in a long time! Then add the “old-fashioned” telephone from the Let’s Chat Stamp set and you’ll be all set to go!

When I was born in the middle of the century to all the way into the early 1990s, rotary dial phones were very common in the family home. My family phone had one of the long curly cords that you could stretch quite a ways, so you could have a little privacy when speaking with a friend. Some homes had made the switch to the push-button keypad style phone by the 1990s.

Then by the late 1990s and early 2000s people started clamoring for a cellular phone. When I think back just 20 years ago, there have definitely been a lot of iterations of cell phones from a variety of companies. Now we can’t live without one! It is just amazing to me we can tap the entire knowledge base of the world on our little hand held device! Incredible.

Using the color scheme of Berry Burst and Pretty Peacock cardstock makes the phone explode off the paper. I have to admit it took me a little while to figure out that one of the stamps was a speech bubble that you could stamp one of the words inside. LOL! The Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder gives such a lovely texture to the paper.

It’s always a fun idea to decorate your inner layer with a little something, so a narrow strip of the Masterfully Made DSP works nicely.

Basic Paper Cutting Dimensions:

• Case base – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
• Embossed Layer – 4″ x 5 1/4″
• Masterfully Made DSP – 2 1/4″ x 5 1/4″
• Lemon Lime Twist or Pretty Peacock – 2/1/2″ x 5 1/4″
• Berry Burst – 2 23/4″ x 5 1/4″
• Basic White Inner Layer – either 4″ x 5 1/4″ or 3 3/4″ x 5″ your choice
• Basic White for phone – 3″ x 3 1/4″
• Basic White for speech bubble – 1 1/4″ x 2 1/4″
