Candy Cane Peace on Earth Card is an Easy Layout
If you need an easy layout for lots of handmade holiday card making, give this layout a try. This card is a SIP card, using Stamps, Ink and Paper and perfect for a beginner cardmaker. The dimensions are easy to cut and assembling is a breeze.
You can use whatever Designer Series Paper (DSP) you have in your stash, as I used retired Sweetest Christmas DSP. The greeting came from the Christmas Labels stamp set.
I can imagine this layout also used as an all-occasion card layout. All you really need is a large image for the front. It doesn’t matter if the image is printed and fussy cut or stamped then fussy cut. Either way it will be beautiful I’m sure your recipient(s) will love it.
Cutting Dimensions and Brief Directions:
Thick Basic White Cardstock base 5 ½” x 8 ½”, score at 4 ¼” on long side, Landscape card orientation
Garden Green Cardstock – cut 2” x 5 ¼” and 1” x 5 ¼”
Retired Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP) – cut 1 ¾” x 5” and ¾” x 5”
Christmas Labels Stamp Set and Real Red Ink for greeting stamped on card base
Real Red Cardstock – cut 2 ½” x 3 ½”
Retired Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut 2 ¼” x 3 ¼”
Two fussy cut candy canes from Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper
3/8” Real Red Satin Ribbon – tied bow affixed with glue dots and 4 ½” piece for front and wrapped to back, affixed with scotch tape
Add any embellishments of your choice
Basic White Medium Envelope with DSP flap cut 2 ¼” x 6”
This landscape “tent” card should mail well. I recommend using an index card inside your envelope to flatten the bow if you use one, or to protect any embellishments you may decide to add.
